I collect 5 magazines. Apartamento is one of them. Tagged as "an everyday life interiors magazine", Apartamento's pages are filled with great photography and articles about interesting people, interiors and locales. It's refreshingly quiet and uncontrived in its editing and art direction - you'll want to make time to slow down your life for a moment and enjoy (or reinvent) your surroundings. Issue 6 should be hitting Australian stands any day now.

If there's one dress I remember from the last resort season (the stuff that's in store now) is this Stella McCartney one-shoulder appliqué dress. It's feminine ruffles and delicate floral pattern make it a true statement piece without sacrificing elegance. Don't run the risk making the look too pretty though - keep hair and makeup as natural as possible and the dress should speak for itself.

It's no secret that hand washing your own clothes prolongs their longevity. Heavy-handed washing machine cycles, detergents seemingly built for chemical spills and rocket-fuelled electric dryers can do more harm than good on your special clothes. For a person that keeps a very succinct wardrobe, every piece counts and I want them to last for as long as possible. French staple brand A.P.C. and Melbourne-born Aesop seem to be on the same wavelength. They've teamed up to create a laundry detergent specifically for hand washable garments - think fine knits and that first raw denim wash you've been holding out for. If you love the scent, it also works double-duty as a body wash. It's an unexpected collaboration that makes perfect sense.

In the 13th item in INVENTORY's long running series of collaborations, the team have paired up with classic Canadian sportswear maker Babarian to produce the perfect pair of rugby shirts for on and off field. They're made of 100% pre-shrunk cotton and feature a classic and understated tri-stripe pattern for absolute authenticity. They've also slimmed down the fit, which is the main problem I've encountered when trying to find the perfect rugby shirt. All it's missing now are the grass stains.

Somewhat the original spearheader for 70's simple sophistication, Hannah MacGibbon at Chloé strikes all the right notes for the season in her pre-fall collection. The clothes exude a warm, sporty elegance with layers of corduroy suits, striped ponchos and velvet jumpsuits. While the ubiquitous creams and browns remain consistent, a jolt of canary yellow and a paisley print add a further sense of nostalgia. Annie Hall would be proud.

The navy suede buck is a good, albeit under-appreciated, shoe to have in your closet. Versatile to be worn all year round, the shoe balances between smart and casual when a sneaker just won't cut it. Mark McNairy arguably does it better than anyone else - each pair is made in Northampton, England with Goodyear welted red brick soles and brown laces. They're clean and simple, with details that count.

They're from last season, so get them while you still can.

A.P.C. always does a good job of appropriating the military look into something very elegant and refined. The camo jacket is stripped down with simple buttons, tartan lining, corduroy collar and you can be sure that the fit is spot on. Think of it as a blazer; you'll want to dress it up so you don't fall onto any cliches.

While everyone's going gaga crazy over the Lanvin x H&M collab, I've got my sights solely on the J. Press for Urban Outfitters line that's due to drop in a couple of weeks. It's an impressive, tightly focused capsule collection with everything you need for some Animal House-style action on the cheap. The picture above says it all, really. If you ever need a Navy blazer (you do), now is the time to pick one up.
