h(y)r collective: issue 10

The fine young gentlemen at h(y)r collective have put out another great issue of their web magazine. The double digit issue has some pretty fantastic stuff including exclusive coverage of Common Projects' full Summer 09 range and an insightful interview with New York's Shipley & Halmos on their brand. Oh, and Mismo! I have to commend the guys on what they're doing, and doing so oftenly with their daily blog. I've messaged with creative director and editor, Ryan Willms, a couple of times and can honestly say that he's a great, down-to-earth guy who's working his butt off for what he loves. That's inspiration enough for me.

Check it out now @ h(y)r collective

All Dried Up

Sorry about the lack of photographs guys. I'm looking at the forecast now: 39, 38, 36, 36, 34 (yay!?). That means there's been a sore lack of great outfits I've seen around lately, as people try to stay as comfortable as they can in this battering heat wave.

I'm still searching though!

Looking Through the Looking Glass

I was asked earlier today how I choose who to photograph on the street? I wouldn't say I have a set criteria, nor would I say I go by set trends or looks. I personally think the perfect look is a little bit of an equation which requires thoughtful consideration but little effort. Of course for some people this comes at a sub-conscious level, instinctual even.

When all the right and appropriate elements (colour, proportion, detail, personality...) come together as one cohesive whole, originality and personal style prevails. This is the embodiment I seek and recognise on the street. It is also the philosophy I go by when dressing everyday.

PS. No flip-flops, please.
